Dashboard

Monitor your business performance with real-time analytics

Dashboard Overview

Your Dashboard is the command center for your invoicing business. It provides at-a-glance metrics, visual charts, and quick insights into your financial performance.

The dashboard automatically updates with your latest data, showing you real-time statistics about your invoices, revenue, and collection status. All numbers feature smooth animations for a modern, engaging experience.

The dashboard helps you: - Quickly assess your business health - Identify trends in revenue and payments - Spot overdue invoices that need attention - Track month-over-month growth - Review recent activity at a glance - Monitor quote acceptance rates

Key Metrics

The top of your dashboard displays four key metric cards that give you instant insight into your business performance. Three of them show a percentage change compared to the equivalent previous period; the Awaiting Payment card shows your current outstanding balance without a comparison.

Revenue Collected

Total amount received from paid invoices in the selected period. The percentage indicator shows growth or decline versus the previous period.

Invoices Created

The number of invoices created in the selected period (cancelled invoices are excluded). Includes a period-over-period change.

Awaiting Payment

Total amount still outstanding from unpaid and overdue invoices. Helps you understand your receivables at a glance.

New Customers

Number of customers added in the selected period, with a change compared to the previous period.

Tips
  • Three of the four cards show a percentage change versus the previous period
  • Green percentages indicate growth, red indicates decline
  • Use the period selector to compare different time ranges

Period Filtering

The dashboard includes a period selector that lets you view your metrics for different time ranges. This is useful for tracking performance over specific periods and comparing results.

Available Periods: - This Month - Data from the current calendar month - Last Month - Data from the previous calendar month - Last 3 Months - Data from the past 90 days - This Year - Data from January 1st of the current year - All Time - All data since your first invoice

When you switch periods, all dashboard metrics, charts, and statistics update instantly. The comparison percentages adjust to compare against the equivalent previous period (e.g., "This Month" compares to last month, "This Year" compares to last year).

Period switching is lightweight and fast - only the relevant data is fetched from the server, not the entire history.

Tips
  • Use "This Month" for day-to-day tracking
  • Use "Last 3 Months" for quarterly reviews
  • Use "All Time" to see your complete business history
  • Switch between periods to spot trends and seasonality

Charts & Visualizations

The dashboard includes visual charts to help you understand trends and patterns in your invoicing data.

Revenue Chart: An area chart (or a donut for single-month views) displaying your paid vs. pending revenue over the selected period. This helps you: - See the balance between collected and outstanding revenue - Identify months with high billing activity - Track collection efficiency over time

Invoice Status Distribution: A visual breakdown showing how your invoices in the selected period split across statuses: - Paid - Invoices that have been fully paid - Awaiting - Invoices sent but not yet due - Overdue - Sent invoices past their due date - Drafts - Invoices not yet sent

A stacked bar plus per-status counts and amounts make it easy to see your collection efficiency at a glance.

Quote Status (when quotes are enabled): A matching breakdown for your quotes, alongside the recent-quotes list: - Accepted, Sent, Rejected, Expired, and Draft counts - Accepted quote value for the period

Revenue Overview

Area chart (donut for a single month) of collected vs pending revenue, with total billed

Invoice Status

Visual breakdown of paid, awaiting, overdue, and draft invoices

Quote Status

Accepted, sent, rejected, expired, and draft quotes for the period

Recent Activity

The bottom of the dashboard shows your most recent invoices and quotes for quick access and review.

Recent Invoices: Displays the 6 most recently created invoices with: - Invoice number - Customer name - Amount - Status badge (Draft, Sent, Paid, Overdue, Cancelled) - Quick link to view the full invoice

Recent Quotes: Displays the 6 most recently created quotes with: - Quote number - Customer name - Amount - Status badge (Draft, Sent, Accepted, Rejected, Expired, Converted) - Quick link to view the full quote

Click on any item in the recent activity lists to navigate directly to the document details page.

Tips
  • Recent activity helps you pick up where you left off
  • Click any invoice or quote to jump directly to its details
  • Overdue invoices are highlighted in red for quick identification

Period Insights Panel

Next to the revenue chart, the Period Insights panel breaks down the selected period in more detail. At the top is a Collection Rate ring (it turns green at 80%+, amber from 50%, red below), followed by three summary rows.

Available Statistics: - Collection Rate - The share of your billed revenue that has been collected, calculated as paid amount divided by total billed for the period - Average Invoice Value - The period's total billed divided by the number of invoices, showing your typical invoice size - Total Billed - The sum of all (non-cancelled) invoice amounts in the period - Outstanding - The amount still awaiting payment in the period

When there is no activity in the selected period, the panel shows an empty state instead of zeros. All figures update in real-time as you create and manage invoices.

Tips
  • A collection rate above 80% is generally considered healthy and turns the ring green
  • Switch the period selector to compare insights across time ranges
  • Use average invoice value to inform your pricing strategy
