Proforma invoice में आमतौर पर 'This is not a tax invoice' या 'Proforma only' जैसा statement होता है ताकि इसे VAT invoice के साथ confuse न किया जाए। Transaction confirm होने और goods या services deliver होने पर, proforma को replace करने के लिए commercial (tax) invoice जारी होता है। Proforma seller के accounts receivable में record नहीं होता और buyer इससे VAT reclaim नहीं कर सकता।
